There will be no pre-registering required for this winter’s classroom replacements, Help Desks. You just need to show up at the listed time and bring your questions, concerns and what you need help with.
Depending on the number of “helpers” that come to help and the number of “helpees” that come to get help, the wait time for getting help can very greatly. But we’ll get to you as quickly as the “helpers” can.
Here are the descriptions of our Help Desks and the details for the meeting days and times.
Windows/Android Help Desk
This Help Desk will be meeting the 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoons from 2:00-4:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Bring your problems, issues, questions and anything related to using a Windows computer or laptop, and the Android tablet or smartphone. John and Ron (and maybe some others) will try and help you figure it out. This is for users of all levels of experience with Windows/Android products. If we, unpaid volunteers, can’t answer your question or know how to do what you need, we’ll help you find the solution.
You can bring your own laptop or use our classroom Windows desktops (if you want to bring in your own desktop, we can connect it up to our work stations), and your smartphone or tablet and get help directly on it.
Come one time, come every time. We’ll be glad to help you and maybe you can even help some of the others because you already know the answers to their questions. That’s what makes a Help Desk so great, members helping members.

Repair Help Desk

Bring your problems, issues, questions and anything related to technology hardware. Everett and Jim (and maybe some others) will try and help you figure out what’s not working and why. Then hopefully they can come up with a solution to repair or improve the workings of your device.. If we, unpaid volunteers, can’t answer your question or know how to do what you need, we’ll help you find the solution.
If you bring your own laptop, please bring the power cord for it. If you need help working on your desktop, just bring the tower/box as we can connect it to keyboards/monitors and mice in our backroom repair shop. We can do limited work on printers as we’ve found that it cost more to fix one up than to just buy a new one.
